The first and second generation, stock, “out of the box” Auto World Super III is too wide to pass through the Tech-inspection block, required for Racing to the Future™.
This is easily fixed by cutting, filing or grinding 1/16th of an inch from the rear axle.
1.) Remove the rear axle assembly from the chassis.
2.) Remove the rear rims and tires from the axle.
3.) Remove the crown gear and spacer from the axle.
4.) Cut, file or grind 1/16th of an inch from the rear axle.
5.) Replace the gear, spacer, rims and tires.
6.) Snap back into chassis.
7.) Measure to make sure no part of the finished chassis is wider that 1-5/16th of inch. Any wider will not pass through the tech block and will be too wide to race on the track.
You may also replace the rear axle with a Viper Scale Racing, BSRT or AFX rear axle or the newer Super III rear axle that meets the width requirements of 1-5/16th inch wide.
